WE Will NEVER Forget

Eleven years ago today, evil rose from the depths of hell.  That evil had conjured a plan to take thousands of innocent lives and tear America apart.  This plan was devised and deployed by cowards, Muslim extremists, people who are less than human, people who are true scum of the earth.  On that day, they killed nearly 3,000 people from 115 countries.  The had succeeded at their goal of death and destruction.  However, these cowards did not count us Americans coming together. We donated blood, food, and money to those in need.  We stood by our friends, family, neighbors and strangers, and held each others hands and prayed to God for guidance and hope.  We showed them that they had failed in their diabolical plot, that we were strong and they were the weak, and we showed them the mighty force of the American military, and brought them to justice.

Now more than ever we need to come together.  It doesn’t matter your race or politics, we need to get back to that unity and strength we had on 9/12/2001.

We at TheRevolutionary will never forget.

Jesus Supports 50 – 100% Tax Rate? Really?

According to TIME author Erika Christakis, Jesus would advocate a 50 – 100% tax rate, and because Jesus’ teachings on wealth are “…nowhere to be found in Ryan’s budget proposal,” Christians should not vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket.

In her own words:

Americans often tell pollsters they yearn for a return to the Christian principles on which the U.S. was founded. If so, they should take a closer look at the Mitt Romney–Paul Ryan ticket. Jesus’ teachings regarding wealth are nowhere to be found in Ryan’s budget proposal.

As near as we can tell, Jesus would advocate a tax rate somewhere between 50% (in the vein of “If you have two coats, give one to the man who has none”) and 100% (if you want to get into heaven, be poor).  Mostly, he suggested giving all your money up for the benefit of others. And Jesus made no distinction between the deserving and undeserving poor; his love and generosity applied to all.

Now Jesus did not say because you have two coats give one to the poor man.  He told us that you should love your neighbor as yourself. For example, if you are walking down the street and you see someone less fortunate than you shivering in the cold, because they don’t have a coat, blanket, or warm clothing; you should feel enough love for that person that you should give them your coat, blanket, etc.  Far from this socialistic idea of I have more than you so to make things fair I need to give you one of mine.

As for the “…if you want to get into heaven, be poor…” I have not found anything in the bible that says this.  There was a rich man that came to Jesus and asked how to receive eternal life.  He was told to sell all his possessions and give the proceeds to the poor and to follow Jesus.  He was told this because Jesus knew he loved his wealth more than anything else and he had to get rid of that idol to be able to love his neighbors or even Jesus.  Wealth is not evil. It is often said that “In the bible it says’Money is the root of all evil,” however the correct phrasing is “The love of money is the root of all evil.”

Occupy Christmas?

Strange things, both legal and illegal, have been seen at the occupy events.  However, at occupy DC a live nativity scene was seen.  It is unclear who is behind the scene from the video.

Some of the reactions from the protestors are interesting.  Ranging from “This ain’t church.” to the hilarious “Is that legal?”.

Atheists Demand Nativity Scene Be Removed

(The Blaze) Christian pastors in Henderson County, Texas, are fighting back against atheists who are demanding that a nativity scene located on a courthouse lawn be taken down.

The group behind the complains, the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation, frequently targets faith and religion projects that are placed on public lands. The group sent a letter to the county that explains how a local resident, who wishes to remain nameless, is offended by the scene.

(AP) — Texters in Pakistan better start watching their language.

Pakistan’s telecommunications authority sent a letter ordering cell phone companies to block text messages containing what it perceives to be obscenities, Anjum Nida Rahman, a spokeswoman for Telenor Pakistan, said Friday.

It also sent a list of more than 1,500 English and Urdu words that were to be blocked.

The order was part of the regulator’s attempt to block spam messages, said Rahman. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority refused to comment on the initiative.

Many of the words to be blocked were sexually explicit terms or swear words, according to a copy of the list obtained by The Associated Press.

It also included relatively mild terms like fart and idiot.

The reasons for blocking some words, including Jesus Christ, headlights and tampon, were less clear, raising questions about religious freedom and practicality. Any word could conceivably be part of a spam message.

The letter, which was also obtained by the AP, was dated Nov. 14 and gave cell phone companies seven days to implement the order.

Rahman, the Telenor spokeswoman, said her company first received the letter Thursday and was discussing how to proceed.

“It’s a big issue, so it is being examined carefully from all points of view,” said Rahman.

The letter said the order was legal under a 1996 law preventing people from sending information through the telecommunications system that is “false, fabricated, indecent or obscene.”

It also stated that free speech can be restricted “in the interest of the glory of Islam.”

Under pressure from Islamists, Pakistan has blocked pornographic websites and ones deemed anti-Islamic. Last year, it temporarily banned Facebook because of material on the site deemed offensive to Islam.
